Hobbiton & Hamilton Gardens

I finally went to the place I wanted to go at first, Hobbiton.
Discover my unforgettable day at the hobbits’ village!

I spent a wonderful and unforgettable day at the Hobbits’ village and the Hamilton Gardens. These two places are at once artificial and natural.

There is only one way to visit Hobbiton. I was included in a group and made a tour of the movie set guided by a coordinator. So, we couldn’t look around the set by ourselves. Which means that we had to follow the guide and take photos quickly not to be lost. But it was still very pleasant to be there.

At first, I had just imagined simple doors as spot for photos. But it is more than that. It is an entire village making feel like we are in the movies. It was realistic and I didn’t want to leave the place.

I guess most people know ‘Lord of the Rings’ or ‘Hobbit’ movies from Peter Jackson. But for those who might ignore it, Peter Jackson is a New Zealander and wanted to shoot the films in his native country. Hobbiton movie set is now a touristic place for the fans but also for tourists who need a little adventure in a fantastic place.

At the end of the tour, I could taste a drink. I could choose between beer, cider and non-alcoholic drink with ginger. It was very cozy.

After that, I went to the Hamilton gardens. This place presents various kinds of gardens from different countries and periods. These gardens are like a big maze and it is amusing to explore these gardens.

There also was a Mauri garden.

Japanese, Chinese and English gardens were included in the best gardens. The Japanese and Chinese gardens were my favorite because of the traditional house and the bonsai from Japan and the bamboo forest and the Chinese pavilion.
